Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Choi Kyung-sik) announced on the 17th that it will begin accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis for the '2023 Native Speaker Online Foreign Language Education' starting from the 21st.
Launched in 2021, Namwon City's native speaker online foreign language education program achieved a high completion rate of 95.9% last year and is a lifelong education program with very high citizen satisfaction.
This education program, offered in two courses?English and Chinese?will begin on the 3rd of next month and continue for about seven months. It is a course where students can receive foreign language education via video calls through one-on-one native speaker matching.
Anyone aged 18 or older who is a Namwon citizen can participate in this program, and the tuition fee is 20,000 KRW per month.
Students can choose one course between English and Chinese, and after an individual level test, they will receive 60 minutes of classes per week (either twice or three times a week).
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 21st on the Namwon City Native Speaker Online Foreign Language Education website. For more details, inquiries can be made through the call center.
Ji Yang-geun, Director of the City Education and Sports Department, said, "We hope this program will lay the foundation for making Namwon a city where people gather through lifelong learning policies and a city that is good for learning."
