This year, Kakao newly established the Kakao Tech Campus program to address the issue of IT-related education being concentrated in the metropolitan area and certain regions. Throughout the education process, current developers from Kakao and other IT companies participate to support mentoring, special lectures, code reviews, and other activities related to job hunting. All participants receive electronic certificates and opportunities for program community networking. Outstanding completion teams are awarded scholarships of 2,000 KRW each per school.

This year, the program is being operated from April to November in partnership with Pusan National University and Chonnam National University. After program briefings were held on the 9th for each university, many students applied, including current students, students on leave, prospective graduates, and alumni. Next year, the scope will be expanded from the current two universities to a regional level, and the curriculum will be extended. CEO Hong said, “Kakao will continue to constantly consider how to contribute to society through what Kakao does best.”
