Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won criticized the report that Japanese Prime Minister Kishida mentioned 'Dokdo' during the Korea-Japan summit, saying, "the problem was not responding at all."
On the 17th, on YTN's 'News King Park Ji-hoon,' former Director Park said, "From the Japanese Prime Minister's perspective, it is perhaps natural to say, ‘I have already resolved the comfort women issue,’ and ‘Dokdo is Japanese territory.’ He will throw that out once. But does our president remain silent? If he stays quiet, it means he acknowledges it," he said.
Earlier, NHK reported that Prime Minister Kishida conveyed his position on Dokdo during the summit, but the Blue House denied it, stating, "There was no mention of Dokdo during the summit." In response, former Director Park raised his voice, saying, "Would Japanese media lie? I believe such audio will definitely come out from places like NHK. If that video spreads in our country, what will happen to the president? His approval rating will really plummet."
He also predicted a future decline in President Yoon's approval rating. Former Director Park said, "Isn't the conservative faction doing this because the U.S. ordered it? The pro-American, pro-Japanese factions, and businesspeople (are behind this)," adding, "Can the people support such humiliating diplomacy? I think the approval rating will fall. Of course, it could also remain stagnant."
He pointed out, "We are already producing all three major items, including hydrogen fluoride, domestically," and said, "we give GSOMIA, give everything. We give the pheasant, the eggs, and even the broth, so what have we gained?"
