LG Launches Drive to Secure R&D Talent... Koo Kwang-mo Says "The Size of Dreams Determines the Future"

LG Tech Conference Held
Inviting Over 400 R&D Talents

On the 16th, LG hosted the ‘LG Tech Conference’ at LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, inviting over 400 domestic science and engineering research and development (R&D) talents to secure outstanding talent in the R&D field. The LG Tech Conference is an event where executives and employees, including the top management of affiliates, explain LG’s technological innovation status and vision to attract excellent R&D talent.

This year’s slogan was set as ‘Find yourself, Find your future.’ It carries the meaning that talents discover ‘themselves’ and further find their ‘future’ by experiencing LG’s technology and company.

At the event, Koo Kwang-mo, CEO of LG Corporation, Kwon Bong-seok, COO (Vice Chairman) of LG Corporation, Park Il-pyung, President of LG Science Park, along with CTOs (Chief Technology Officers), CDOs (Chief Digital Officers), CHOs (Chief Human Resources Officers) of each affiliate, and other top executives met with R&D talents who will lead future industries such as artificial intelligence, bio, cleantech, mobility, and new materials.

CEO Koo, introduced by LG AI Research Institute’s AI human ‘Tilda,’ began his speech by presenting a painting drawn by Tilda with the keywords dream, future, and people. He emphasized, “LG’s dream is to provide happy experiences in people’s lives and create a world where everyone smiles by turning imagination into a better future. To realize this dream, ‘technology and innovation,’ and the ‘people and talents’ who make this possible are precious, which is a principle cherished throughout LG’s history of over 75 years.”

He also said, “The size of the dream you dream determines the future,” and added, “I always support that your concerns about dreams and growth bear greater fruit, and I hope LG can be with you on that journey.”

Meanwhile, since the ‘LG Tech Conference’ is an event inviting the best R&D talents, LG held this event at LG Science Park, the heart of research and development. LG Science Park is also the place CEO Koo visited first after his appointment in 2018 to emphasize the importance of R&D.
