"From Dirt Spoon Background, Quitting After Earning 1 Billion Won"...Stock Certification Post Goes Viral

Surging Secondary Battery Stocks Sold Out Completely... Office Workers Say "Jealous"

As secondary battery-related stocks continue to surge, a post about making 1 billion KRW from these stocks and quitting a job has become a hot topic online.

On the 15th, a post titled "Selling all EcoPro shares, quitting my job" was uploaded on a workers' community. The author, who claims to be affiliated with Hyundai Motor Company, stated, "I planned to quit once I saved 1 billion KRW, and that day has come."

He wrote, "I was born into a humble background and liked cooking. My goal was to open a restaurant under my own name, and thanks to EcoPro, I can achieve that goal now," adding, "I feel overwhelmed. Before selling all my shares, I’m leaving a commemorative proof shot."

According to the attached stock account photo, he bought 3,800 shares of EcoPro at 108,200 KRW each, achieving a 255.57% return. He invested about 400 million KRW and earned over 1 billion KRW. Additionally, he bought 580 shares of EcoPro BM at 91,200 KRW each, recording a 122.69% return. The unrealized gain is around 64 million KRW.

The commonality of these companies is that they are related to secondary batteries. EcoPro is a battery material specialist company engaged in the secondary battery business. EcoPro BM is a subsidiary of EcoPro specializing in cathode material business.

According to the Korea Exchange, EcoPro closed at 448,000 KRW, up 20.75% from the previous day. This pushed it past the representative bio-related stock Celltrion Healthcare to become the second-largest market cap on the KOSDAQ market. EcoPro BM also closed up 8.91%.

The rise of secondary battery-related stocks has recently gained significant attention. Since the beginning of this year (from the closing price on January 2 to the closing price on March 15), EcoPro rose 307.27%, ranking 4th in KOSDAQ gains. EcoPro BM also rose 129.12%.

Netizens who saw this post reacted with comments like, "Where do you get this kind of information?", "It’s too high now to enter," and "I’m jealous of the 400 million KRW seed money." Others supported the author, saying, "It’s cool to pursue a childhood dream, but be careful not to lose a large amount of money easily."
