City Provides 'Beautiful Flower Streets for Citizens All Year Round'

Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk has created a vibrant pansy flower path to bring the scent of spring flowers to its citizens and to beautify the urban streets for the new spring season.

Yeongju City, which delivered the scent of spring flowers to citizens and created a pansy flower path on the beautiful urban streets.

On the 11th and 15th of last month, the city planted 15,000 pansies in two colors, yellow and white, in flower pots along the route from Polytechnic University to Seocheon Bridge and around the Citizen Sports Complex, preparing for citizens to enjoy a lively spring.

Park Sang-cheol, head of the Park Management Division, said, “The flower language of pansies is ‘Think of me.’ We hope that seeing the pansies will encourage citizens to call or text their relatives and acquaintances to check in on them.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to create an urban environment that conveys a bright and beautiful city image to our citizens.”

Starting with this spring’s pansy planting, the city plans to provide citizens with beautiful flower-lined streets throughout all four seasons by planting distinctive flowers suited to each season.
