Gokseong Jukgok 'Jeong·Ae·Banada' Project Receives Great Response

Jukkok-myeon Community Security Council, Village Welfare Plan

On the 7th, the Jukgok-myeon Community Security Council in Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced the launch of the ‘Jeong·Ae·Banhada’ project, part of the village welfare plan.

The ‘Jeong·Ae·Banhada’ project is a part of the village welfare plan that provides side dishes to vulnerable groups. Together with about 15 volunteers, they visited 16 households of elderly living alone with mobility difficulties and vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots to provide side dishes.

K, a recipient of the side dishes, expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the side dishes sent with sincerity, I was able to enjoy a delicious meal after a long time.”

L, a representative of the Jukgok-myeon Community Security Council, said, “Thanks to the interest and voluntary participation of social organizations in Jukgok-myeon, we were able to promote the Jeong·Ae·Banhada project. We will promote a movement to practice love for the community through various resource connections and cooperation within the local community.”

The Hope Side Dish Sharing project, implemented as a village welfare plan since 2021, supports side dishes for low-income families. In the year before last, 6 households received support for a total of 72 sessions over 6 months.

Last year, by discovering local community resources, side dishes were provided once a week for 10 months, totaling 40 sessions, to 15 low-income households with the help of 10 volunteers from 6 donation restaurants and 3 social organizations.

The Jukgok-myeon Community Security Council is actively promoted with the participation of many local social organizations such as the village headmen’s group, Saemaul leaders’ association, volunteer fire brigade, life improvement association, Saemaul women’s association, and Together Village Cooperative.

Additionally, through various volunteer activities, they practice inclusion and consideration for neighbors in need within the community and contribute greatly to spreading a culture of sharing.
