Volvo Cars Provides Integrated Tmap Infotainment Service

Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 15th that it is leading digital innovation through its advanced connectivity technology, the 'Integrated TMAP Infotainment Service.'

Volvo Cars is the world's first automotive brand to integrate an infotainment system powered by Android into its vehicles. In particular, Volvo Korea invested 30 billion KRW to optimize the system for the Korean market, becoming the first imported car brand to do so. Based on Google's Android Automotive OS, the advanced infotainment service integrating TMAP Auto, NUGU Auto, and FLO was developed in collaboration with TMAP Mobility.

This service was first introduced in the Volvo XC60, launched domestically in the second half of 2021, and is now standard across all models currently sold in Korea.

In the future, Volvo customers will be able to make in-car payments using cards registered on TMAP. With 15 years of free OTA updates, users can experience Wave (OTT service), web browsing, and enhanced EV-specific systems all at once.

Additionally, through the establishment of an app store, various features such as news, podcasts, and audiobooks will be added sequentially, continuously enhancing customer convenience. Especially, the new Volvo EX90, expected to be pre-released at the end of this year ahead of its launch next year, will be introduced to Korean consumers as a Korea market-specialized version equipped with a more advanced 'TMAP Infotainment System,' including TMAP's HD maps.

Javier Varela, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Volvo Cars, emphasized, "The integrated TMAP Infotainment Service is designed to provide a differentiated digital customer experience exclusively for Korean consumers," adding, "We will also do our best to collaborate with global partners such as TMAP Mobility to lead future technology innovation."
