In particular, the fully bloomed beautiful cherry blossoms of Geumgoksa Temple are the biggest attraction of the festival, already exciting the hearts of spring visitors.

Against the backdrop of the scenic Geumgoksa Cherry Blossom Thirty-ri Road, various events such as △Cherry Blossom Singing Contest △Face Painting △Treasure Hunt △Slow Walk on the Cherry Blossom Road △Busking will be held with tourists at the cherry blossom festival site.

This year, new and unique programs will be introduced, including ‘Make Your Own Handkerchief’ where participants stamp handkerchiefs with inked stamps of various shapes, ‘Cherry Blossom Golden Bell’ quiz about the history of Gangjin-gun and the origin of cherry blossoms, ‘We Take Your Photo’ which instantly prints photos taken at the festival, and ‘Tarot Card Reading’.

Food booths operated by Saemaeul Women's Association members and a direct sales market for agricultural and specialty products will also be operated together.

The Gangjin Geumgoksa Cherry Blossom Thirty-ri Road Festival Promotion Committee plans to accelerate preparations for welcoming spring visitors through the creation of flower paths and event venues.

Kim Geumsu, the chairman of the promotion committee, said, “As this is the first large-scale cherry blossom festival held since COVID-19, we will do our best to make it a festival that tourists can enjoy and be satisfied with.”

With the launch of the 8th term of the local government, Gangjin-gun has set ‘Attracting 5 million tourists to make Gangjin a tourism powerhouse’ as one of its five major goals. The Cheongja Festival was moved to winter, attracting 106,152 tourists and achieving satisfactory results in both popularity and evaluation.

Gangjin-gun’s strategy is to transform into a city where festivals never cease by hosting the Cheongja Festival, the Jeolla Byeongyeongseong Festival held concurrently with the Geumgoksa Cherry Blossom Thirty-ri Road Festival, the Wolchulsan Spring Picnic Festival, and the Hydrangea Festival.
