Wando-gun Actively Promotes Administrative Measures to Prevent Fatal Accidents

167 Administrative Vehicles Equipped with Multifunctional Emergency Supplies

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it has purchased multifunctional emergency tools (emergency escape hammers) and equipped all 167 administrative vehicles with them.

The multifunctional emergency tool includes a hammer that can break the side window glass to attempt an emergency escape in case of an urgent situation, as well as a function to cut the seatbelt.

The Tax Accounting Division, which promoted the project, distributed the multifunctional emergency tools to departments and eup/myeon offices, emphasizing through demonstrations that the method of escaping from vehicles should always be well understood, and also conducted safety awareness training for vehicle occupants.

Kim, an employee driving an administrative vehicle in eup/myeon, said, “With the support of the emergency escape hammer and safety education, I don’t think escaping from the vehicle will be frightening even in an emergency,” adding, “I keep it close to the driver’s seat and will actively use it to respond in case of an emergency.”

Kim Hee-su, head of the Tax Accounting Division, said, “Regarding safety, quick response and not missing the golden time are the most important,” and added, “The installation of emergency escape hammers will be expanded in the future not only to administrative vehicles but also to residents for the protection of human lives.”
