Jeongeup-si Applies for 141.7 Billion KRW Budget for Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Food Projects Next Year

Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do, has decided to apply for a total of 141.7 billion KRW for 68 projects under the 2024 Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Food Business.

According to the city on the 15th, the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Food Business is a government-supported project aimed at promoting agricultural and rural development and increasing farm household income through rural structural improvement.

The budget application amount for Jeongeup-si next year is 141.7 billion KRW, which is about 9% higher than last year's application amount of 129.8 billion KRW.

By sector, there are 18 policy projects worth 58.2 billion KRW, 16 livestock projects worth 39 billion KRW, 17 forestry and distribution projects worth 34.5 billion KRW, and 17 food and horticulture projects worth 10 billion KRW, totaling 68 projects.

Earlier, from January 31 to the 17th of last month, the city received project applications from agricultural-related organizations such as eup, myeon, dong offices and the Korea Rural Community Corporation through a public announcement.

Then, on the 13th, Mayor Lee Hak-su and 27 experts from various sectors, including heads of agricultural organizations, held the "Agriculture, Rural, and Food Industry Policy Deliberation Committee" to review and approve the budget applications for agriculture, forestry, livestock, and food projects.

The projects approved through this deliberation will be finalized after review and approval by Jeollabuk-do and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the project funds will be supported next year.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "The Agriculture, Rural, and Food Industry Policy Deliberation Committee is the first step to securing the agricultural budget for Jeongeup-si," adding, "We will secure budgets for key projects suited to local conditions to not only increase farm household income but also lay the foundation for regional agricultural development."
