The signing ceremony took place on the 14th at the Suseong-gu Office, attended by Kim Young-hoon, CEO of Domino's Pizza Korea, Kim Dae-kwon, Mayor of Suseong-gu, and other executives. Both parties agreed to actively cooperate to implement the urban drone delivery service.
Domino's Pizza plans to operate drone delivery service 11 times a day on weekends from next month through June at Suseongmot, a representative tourist spot in Daegu, on a first-come, first-served basis. Orders can be placed through the Domino's Pizza app from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Customers who order pizza using the drone delivery service will also get to see a delivery robot. The drone, after circling Suseongmot and arriving at the water stage, transfers the order to a waiting delivery robot, which then completes the final delivery to the customer.
Following its drone delivery services in Sejong City in 2021 and Jeju City last year, Domino's Pizza plans to solidify its position as a food tech company by conducting drone delivery services at Suseongmot in Suseong-gu, Daegu, this year.
A Domino's Pizza representative said, “Starting with the first drone delivery service in Sejong City in Korea, our company has continuously operated drone delivery with the sole purpose of providing customers with new experiences. We expect that drone and robot deliveries will offer enjoyable sights and create special memories for citizens visiting recreational areas in the warm spring weather.”
