On the 15th, the fire authorities announced that the fire at Hankook Tire's Daejeon factory was fully extinguished around 8 a.m. that day.

The fire occurred at 10:09 p.m. on the 12th at Hankook Tire's Daejeon factory in Moksang-dong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon.

The fire authorities completed the initial extinguishing around 11 a.m. on the 13th, 13 hours after the fire broke out, but it was reported that they had difficulty fully extinguishing the fire due to combustible materials such as tires piled up at the site.

The previous day, the fire authorities deployed 22 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks and ambulances, and 76 personnel to the site to carry out overnight mop-up operations.

The fire caused the complete destruction of approximately 87,000 square meters inside the northern 2nd factory of Hankook Tire's Daejeon plant, and 210,000 tires stored in the 3rd logistics warehouse of the 2nd factory were burned.

On the day of the fire, 11 people, including 10 workers and 1 firefighter, sustained minor injuries (such as simple smoke inhalation) and were treated before being sent home.
