Taeyoungho: "Is JM'S Democratic Party despicable?… Lee Jae-myung calls Yoon a 'gangster'"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Tae Young-ho, Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party who compared the Democratic Party to the cult 'JMS,' exchanged sharp remarks over the Democratic Party's backlash. Tae retorted, "What about Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party who see President Yoon Seok-yeol as a 'gangster'?"

On the 14th, Supreme Council Member Tae posted on his social media, referencing the four-character idiom '돈안지유돈 불안지유불 (豚眼只有豚 佛眼只有佛 ? to a pig, only a pig is visible; to Buddha, only Buddha is visible),' saying, "The insulting remarks the Democratic Party has made toward the president so far are nothing but despicable statements."

On the 12th, he posted "'JM'S Democratic Party" on social media. This was a play on the similarity between the name of the cult JMS, featured in the recent Netflix documentary titled 'I Am God,' and Lee Jae-myung's name spelling. When the Democratic Party protested, calling it "despicable politics that defame the Democratic Party and its leader," Tae responded by citing past remarks from Democratic Party lawmakers.

He pointed out, "Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Jae-jung appeared on the radio and said President Yoon is like the 'Yongsan version of the Netflix hit 'I Am God.' She criticized the post titled 'JM’S Democratic Party' as despicable and is just copying it, which is truly absurd."

Tae also highlighted, "On the 22nd of last month, Lee Jae-myung verbally attacked President Yoon at a Supreme Council meeting, saying, 'If you play with state power, that’s gangster behavior, not presidential.' On the 23rd, at a press conference, he likened the prosecution’s normal legal proceedings against him to 'barbarian invasion' and 'lawless chaos where robbers and gangsters run wild,' thereby insulting the investigation team."

He questioned, "Do Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party really see the president as a 'gangster'? Do they view the prosecution’s lawful investigation as a 'barbarian invasion and public shaming'?" He warned, "The public will not tolerate the first opposition party’s petty attitude of disparaging the investigation as 'gangster-like' just because the probe is tightening."
