Race Car Driver Park Gyuseung from Damyang Donates Hometown Love Fund

BranNew Racing's Park Gyu-seung Sends Heartfelt Message to Hometown

On the 14th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that race car driver Park Gyu-seung, who is from Damyang, participated in the hometown love donation and sent his support to Damyang.

Park Gyu-seung is a racing driver with a unique background as a former dancer.

He has achieved notable results, starting with winning the Korea Speed Festival (KSF) Round 2 Forte Coupe Challenge in 2012, placing 3rd in the 2nd and 7th rounds of the 2019 CJ Logistics Superrace, and finishing 2nd in the opening round of the 2021 CJ Logistics Superrace.

Not only was Park born and raised in Damyang, but he is also the son of the owner of Damyang Yongheungsa Sanchon Garden, showing his strong attachment to Damyang-gun.

Park stated that he will not stop at this donation but plans to additionally donate a portion of his prize money from each competition, and he intends to promote the Damyang-gun hometown love donation program through fan cafes and other channels.

County Governor Lee Byung-no said, “We deeply appreciate Park Gyu-seung’s love for his hometown, which is bringing pride to Damyang,” and added, “We hope this donation will serve as an opportunity to interact with Park Gyu-seung in various fields.”

Park Gyu-seung said, “I feel proud to be able to contribute to the development of Damyang-gun through the hometown love donation program,” and promised, “I will continue to promote the program through various channels and actively participate in talent donations in motorsports and the arts as suggested.”

Damyang-gun currently offers 14 types of thank-you gifts, including rice, Korean beef, tourism and cultural products, and gift certificates. They are currently recruiting suppliers for the second round of thank-you gifts and plan to discover diverse and highly satisfying local agricultural specialties, tourism products, and experiential content that evoke a sense of hometown.
