Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is sending a mobile laundry vehicle for disaster relief to Turkey and Syria, which were affected by the earthquake. In addition, housing experts will be dispatched to support the supply of temporary housing facilities and reconstruction efforts.
On the 14th, GH announced plans to send a 5-ton mobile laundry vehicle equipped with a 32kg capacity washing machine and dryer to Turkey and Syria.
The mobile laundry vehicle being delivered this time was originally produced by GH in 2020 as the first public institution to donate to the Red Cross.
Kim Se-yong, president of GH, stated, "We decided to deliver the mobile laundry vehicle and dispatch housing experts with the hope that the victims suffering from the great earthquake will recover from the damage and return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Previously, in 2015, GH donated emergency relief supplies worth 20 million won to aid recovery from the Nepal earthquake. In 2022, GH also donated funds to support victims of large-scale wildfires in Gangwon Province, demonstrating cooperative activities beyond regional and national borders.
