The Nambu University Regional Child Center Gwangju Support Group (Director Choi Kang-nim) announced on the 13th that it recently conducted mandatory training for regional child center facility managers.
The training, held from the 6th to the 10th, took place at Nambu University seminar room and Dong-gu Pureunmaeul Community Center, with 5 hours of sessions daily for each of the 5 districts. The program covered the 2023 regional child center project guide, accounting (budget), worker child rights, and mandatory reporting of child abuse education.
The reason the Gwangju Support Group's mandatory training stands out from other cities and provinces is that the instructors for the regional child center facility manager training were all proactive leaders, including team leaders (managers) and officers in charge of regional child affairs from the 5 districts, who actively participated as instructors for the Gwangju Support Group's mandatory training.
The facility managers who participated in the training unanimously expressed high satisfaction with the active education and support provided by local government officials regarding project guidance and budgeting, as well as the training composition, environment, respectful attitude, and educational support from the support group.
Ryu Je-gon, president of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Regional Child Center Association, said, “The sessions on worker child rights education and mandatory reporting of child abuse, conducted by Save the Children instructors, provided a deeper opportunity to reflect on child rights and child abuse.”
