Hyundai Motor Production Staff Application Deadline
Site Views Exceed 300,000
About 180,000 people reportedly applied for the Hyundai Motor Company technical positions (production jobs), which were popular among job seekers due to high salaries and welfare benefits. The total number of openings is 400, and if this information is accurate, the competition rate for the document screening alone is expected to reach at least 450 to 1.
According to industry sources on the 13th, Hyundai Motor closed the document submission for production job recruitment at 9 p.m. on the 12th. It is known that the recruitment page views exceeded 300,000 just before the deadline.
Hyundai Motor's production positions are famous for their exceptional welfare benefits, including higher salaries compared to other companies' production jobs, guaranteed retirement at age 60, and Hyundai Motor discounts. In particular, the average annual salary of Hyundai Motor employees, including production staff, was 96 million KRW last year, approaching 100 million KRW. Because of this, some refer to Hyundai Motor production jobs as 'Kingsanjik' (the pinnacle of production jobs).

Additionally, this recruitment was conducted as a 'no-spec hiring' process, excluding applicants' academic background, experience, age, and gender, and it attracted attention as it was the first production job recruitment in 10 years since 2013.
As a result, there are speculations that the number of applicants far exceeded Hyundai Motor's initial expectation of around 100,000. In fact, on the first day of recruitment, a surge of applicants caused the server to crash. It is reported that the waiting number at that time reached 30,000.
However, Hyundai Motor has stated that the '180,000 applicants' rumor is groundless. Hyundai Motor has never disclosed its internal competition rates before, so it is uncertain whether the actual competition rate can be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Kia, which conducted open recruitment for the first time in five years at the end of 2021, had about 50,000 applicants for approximately 100 engineer positions. The competition rate was 500 to 1.
