Cheongsong-gun Supports Cost Reduction and Management Stability for Chili Pepper Farmers

Helping Self-Grown Seedling Farmers, Positive Response

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is promoting a chili seedling support project to reduce production costs for chili self-seeding farms and stabilize farm management during the high inflation period.

The Cheongsong-gun Chili Seedling Support Project is receiving great response from self-seeding farmers.

The chili seedling support project provides partial support for chili seed purchase costs to self-seeding farmers who reside in Cheongsong-gun and wish to cultivate chili peppers on farmland within the jurisdiction, ranging from 0.1 hectares up to a maximum of 1 hectare. This project greatly helps by reducing management costs for chili farms and enhancing production competitiveness, receiving strong positive responses.

The county plans to support seedling areas covering approximately 102 hectares this year, which accounts for 18.6% of the chili cultivation area within the jurisdiction.

Additionally, agricultural field technical guidance is being strengthened by providing sowing and seedling cultivation techniques to farmers who practice self-seeding in greenhouses, enabling the production of healthier chili seedlings.

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “With the increasing costs of various agricultural materials including seed purchase costs, I hope this project will be of some help. We will continue to strive to produce competitive Cheongsong chili peppers.”
