Due to Personal Reasons, Decided to Fully Devote to KLPGA Duties
Kim Jeong-tae, chairman of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), is stepping down from his concurrent position as chairman of the Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF).
On the 13th, Chairman Kim stated through the AGLF Secretariat, "I founded the forum in early 2020 to promote women's golf development in the Asia-Pacific region, but currently, managing both the KLPGA association duties and the forum is physically challenging, and due to personal reasons, I have decided to resign from the AGLF chairmanship."
Chairman Kim established AGLF in January 2020 while serving as chairman of Hana Financial Group and served as its inaugural chairman. In August last year, he was unanimously reappointed at the forum members' general meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has been serving a three-year term since early this year.
Until a new chairman is elected, AGLF plans to operate under an acting system by appointing an individual with international experience. The next chairman will be elected at the regular general meeting held during the Simone Asia Pacific Cup in Jakarta this December.
