For Members of Social Welfare Organizations
The Seoul Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 13th that it will conduct food-making education aimed at healing both the body and mind for 150 members of social welfare organizations.
From April to October, education will be provided to a total of six social welfare organizations (one session per organization), where participants can choose to make either traditional foods such as gochujang and tteok or healing foods.
The Seoul Agricultural Technology Center added that the purpose is to provide food-making experience opportunities that help promote healthy eating habits for socially vulnerable groups, foster social skills, and support emotional communication by cooking together with members.
Eligibility for the healing food education application requires that the social welfare organization in Seoul has at least 25 trainees able to participate. The education location can be chosen between a method where a professional instructor visits the organization directly or a method where participants visit the Agricultural Technology Center for hands-on practice. The education lasts for two hours and is conducted in a practical format with experts.
Cho Sang-tae, Director of the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We will provide socially vulnerable groups with opportunities to experience our unique traditional food education and healing food, supporting healthy eating habits and offering chances to communicate with society.”
