Songpa-gu Cultural Experiment Space Hosuseo Hosts 'Garden of the Rabbit' Exhibition

‘The Rabbit's Garden’ Special Exhibition Held from March 14 to May 7 at Songpa-gu’s ‘Cultural Experimental Space Hosu’

Enjoy a Fairy Tale-themed Artwork Alongside the Beautiful Scenery of the Lake in the Cherry Blossom Season

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is hosting a special cherry blossom season exhibition titled 'The Rabbit's Garden' at the ‘Cultural Experimental Space Hosu’ located within Songpanaru Park, free of charge until May 7.

Visitors can enjoy the unique advantage of experiencing Seoul’s only natural lake cherry blossom path while simultaneously appreciating culture and the arts in this exhibition space.

This exhibition features the ‘rabbit’ as the main character in celebration of the Year of the Rabbit 2023. It brings to life a fairy tale where “a rabbit from the moon comes down to earth and runs through the spring garden along the cherry blossom path.”

Four young artists participated in the exhibition: Myung Kim, Dasom Seong, Yejin Lee, and Yuri Jeon. They present a diverse garden scene through 59 works showcasing various charms such as three-dimensional sculptures, paper art collages, colored pencil drawings, and traditional East Asian paintings.

Especially during the ‘Hosu Cherry Blossom Festival’ from April 5 to 9, the 3rd-floor lounge of the exhibition hall will host cherry blossom season participation programs and a Rabbit's Garden photo zone. There will be a program to make your own toppers, and photo booths and photo zones will be set up throughout the space so visitors can take commemorative photos with the cherry blossoms in ‘The Rabbit's Garden.’

Additionally, the exhibition has planned a linked hands-on activity called ‘The Rabbit's Garden Made by My Own Hands’ for children visiting the exhibition. Children will listen to explanations about the exhibition with an art instructor, view the exhibition, and then participate in an art program to create pop-up postcard cards shaped like flowers and rabbits, making it a special gift for the kids.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “In this beautiful season when cherry blossoms bloom, I hope families enjoy outings and visit this fairy tale-like exhibition. We will continue to build Songpa as a place where all residents can enjoy culture and arts and live a rich life filled with culture and art.”
