Hampyeong-gun 'Kkumkium Dream Orchestra' Fulfills Dreams

Providing Classical Music Education Opportunities to Local Children

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, offers children dreams and hope through classical education.

According to the county on the 10th, the orientation for the 'Kkumkium Dream Orchestra' was held on the 8th at the auditorium of Gisan Elementary School in Hampyeong-eup.

The 'Kkumkium Dream Orchestra' is a project aimed at providing music education opportunities to local children to support their emotional development and healthy growth.

Since 2018, the county has been operating the Kkumkium Dream Orchestra program annually for students in grades 3 to 6 of elementary school.

Children learn instruments such as violin, viola, and cello under the guidance of professional instructors every Wednesday after school, and on May 5th, Children's Day, they will showcase their honed performance skills to the audience at the 25th Butterfly Festival's 'Children's Hanmadang Festival'.

A county official said, "The children eager to learn instruments looked very serious," adding, "We also plan to hold a concert for parents and residents at the end of this year."

Meanwhile, last month, Hampyeong-gun held a judging committee and selected the Jeonnam Culture and Arts Association as the entrusted organization to carry out the Kkumkium Dream Orchestra project.
