Gwangju Nam-gu Operates Kiosk Experience Zone Inside Government Building

Nam-gu, Gwangju, announced on the 10th that it will officially operate a kiosk experience zone on the first floor of the district office's Buk Cafe to alleviate difficulties faced by residents, especially the elderly who are not familiar with using kiosk devices, as the introduction of kiosks operated by unmanned machines has been increasing recently in places such as cafes, hospitals, and banks.

Nam-gu has installed two touch display kiosks that break down the boundary between the digital generation and those accustomed to analog, allowing residents, including the elderly, to learn how to use kiosks through various simulations.

The simulation content provided by the educational kiosk devices includes 12 types: express bus terminal, movie theater, cafe, airport, unmanned issuance machine, franchise, hospital, bank, rest area, train, mart, and parking confirmation.

Participants can input customized orders according to each simulation, and all steps, including receipt printing, can be experienced as the system is linked with an actual card payment device.

A Nam-gu official said, "We will consider expanding programs that can enhance residents' digital capabilities, such as smartphone-linked education tailored to kiosk education demand."
