'Prevent a Second Gwacheon Soundproof Tunnel Fire'... Gyeonggi-do Fire Department Conducts Tunnel Evacuation Training

'Prevent a Second Gwacheon Soundproof Tunnel Fire'... Gyeonggi-do Fire Department Conducts Tunnel Evacuation Training Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, is visiting the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center on the 9th and talking with officials.

The Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center will operate the nation's first-ever 'Tunnel Fire Evacuation Training Program' starting from the 9th. This program was developed in response to the Gwacheon Soundproof Tunnel fire accident at the end of last year, which caused multiple casualties.

The training is divided into practical education using a two-lane one-way tunnel fire miniature model and theoretical education covering domestic and international tunnel accident cases, as well as action guidelines during tunnel fires.

In particular, the two-lane one-way tunnel miniature model, scaled down to 1/600 of the actual size, is equipped with all facilities required by the Fire Services Act and Road Tunnel Disaster Prevention Facility Management Guidelines, including internal and external entry blocking devices, evacuation connecting passages, firefighting facilities, and disaster prevention facilities.

A representative from the Safety Experience Center stated, "Through the Tunnel Fire Evacuation Training Program, we will prepare and conduct various training sessions to ensure that citizens are equipped to respond immediately to accidents in emergencies."

Meanwhile, Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, who attended the demonstration on the day, encouraged the staff of the Experience Center who developed the nation's first 'Tunnel Fire Evacuation Training Program' and had a time of communication with them.
