Gwangju Nam-gu Operates Ecocultural Exploration Programs at 7 Locations in the District

Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 9th that it will operate the '2023 Ecological Culture Exploration Program' at places such as Jeseoksan and Bunjeoksan for residents in the district until the end of this year.

The program will run from this month until the end of November, providing opportunities for various experiential activities in ecological forests and neighborhood parks to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation and to promote coexistence between humans and nature.

Nam-gu plans to support the program operation by assigning one forest interpreter for every 10 participants to provide forest experience services tailored to the participants' level.

There are 18 residents active as forest interpreters who play a supportive role by conducting diverse experiential activities such as plant and insect observation and ecological forest playgrounds.

The program venues total seven locations: Jeseoksan, Bunjeoksan, Geumdangsan, Jebongsan, Wolsan Neighborhood Park, Sajik Park, and Pulbit Neighborhood Park.

Applications can be submitted by visiting the Environmental Ecology Division on the 6th floor of Nam-gu Office, or by phone or fax. Group participation from daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary schools, as well as family or group members, can also join the ecological exploration experience.

A Nam-gu official said, "We will do our best to ensure that residents in the district can personally experience various activities through ecological experiences."
