Kookmin University (President Lim Hong-jae) Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced that on the 6th, it signed a business agreement with the Korea Startup Instructors Association (President Lee Jae-hee) at the Eunpyeong Startup Support Center Bukhansan Valley (Center Director Hwang Bo-yoon), which is entrusted and operated by Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung), to promote the formation of an angel investment association for startups in Eunpyeong-gu.
Until now, there has been almost no official investment association formation targeting startups in Eunpyeong-gu, but this agreement ceremony is expected to serve as a turning point to create a new flow of venture startup support in Eunpyeong-gu.
The Korea Startup Instructors Association, which is in charge of promoting the tentative 'Eunpyeong Angel Investment Association,' is a non-profit organization established in 2010 that has produced over 8,000 startup experts nationwide.
Lee Jae-hee, President of the Korea Startup Instructors Association, stated, "We plan to promote the formation of the Eunpyeong Angel Investment Association centered on local residents who love Eunpyeong-gu and senior entrepreneurs, and through this, we will spare no effort to create an investment atmosphere for startups within Eunpyeong-gu."
Hwang Bo-yoon, Center Director of the Eunpyeong Startup Support Center (Professor at Kookmin University Graduate School of Global Startup and Venture), also responded, "Taking this opportunity to promote the Eunpyeong Angel Investment Association, we will continuously strive to discover and invest in excellent startups within Eunpyeong-gu so that a 20 billion KRW scale Eunpyeong Venture Investment Association can be formed in the near future."
At the business agreement signing ceremony, officials from both organizations attended and discussed step-by-step strategies for forming an angel investment association for startups in Eunpyeong-gu and mutual cooperation plans.
