EyesMobile, a leading MVNO (affordable phone) company listed on KOSDAQ, announced on the 3rd that it has launched the first experiential unlimited plan among telecom operators.
Recently, due to the burden of household communication expenses caused by high inflation and the increasing demand for unlocked devices without contracts, interest in affordable phone services has been rising, especially among young people in their 20s and 30s. Since this demographic uses a lot of calls and data, there is high demand for unlimited plans; however, many have been hesitant to use affordable phone services due to preconceived notions such as call quality or speed degradation.
From the user's perspective, despite the high cost-saving effect on communication fees and no difference in network quality including communication speed, EyesMobile offers customers who hesitate to use affordable phones due to negative preconceptions a chance to experience an unlimited affordable plan for 1,350 KRW per month.
This experiential plan provides unlimited basic calls and texts, and offers 7GB of data as a base. After all data is used, unlimited data is provided at speeds up to 1Mbps.
The 1Mbps speed for unlimited data is sufficient to use messenger services like KakaoTalk or SNS with few photos without inconvenience, as well as content such as music streaming services, navigation, and gameplay without loading delays.
Since this plan is widely used by many affordable phone customers, it will be a good opportunity for first-time affordable phone users to eliminate their negative preconceptions about affordable phone services, according to a company official.
The official stated, “As of October last year, the number of affordable phone users (lines) was announced to be about 12.46 million lines, but excluding IoT service users, the actual number of communication users (lines) is about 7.15 million lines, so there is a need to expand the base of actual affordable phone service users.”
He added, “We hope that customers who are interested in affordable phone services but hesitant to subscribe will have the opportunity through this experiential plan to break free from negative perceptions such as call quality or speed degradation and experience the true value provided by EyesMobile.”
Meanwhile, the experiential unlimited plan introduced by EyesMobile offers a trial opportunity for 1,350 KRW per month for the first two months, and from the third to the seventh month, it is provided at 7,400 KRW per month.
