Fundraising Campaign for Damage Recovery Conducted Over 2 Weeks
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 9th, Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, met with Murat Tamer, Ambassador of Turkey to Korea, at the Turkish Embassy in Korea to express condolences for the earthquake damage and delivered relief donations amounting to 430 million won, the National Police Agency announced.
The National Police Agency conducted a fundraising campaign for about two weeks from February 15 to 28 to support recovery efforts in the Turkey and Syria regions.
Approximately 82,000 employees from 18 metropolitan and provincial police agencies nationwide and 5 affiliated institutions participated in this fundraising.
Commissioner Yoon Hee-geun said to Ambassador Tamer, "I express my deepest condolences to the Turkish people who have lost their homes and are suffering due to the earthquake," and added, "I hope the Turkish people regain stability as soon as possible and recover their normal daily lives."
