The Democratic Party's 'Jeong Soon-shin Prosecutor Privilege Investigation Team' and opposition lawmakers from the National Assembly's Education Committee visited Seoul National University on the afternoon of the 8th to meet with President Yoo Hong-rim. It is known that Jeong's son attends this university.

They protested that Seoul National University has not submitted related documents showing how many points were deducted due to school violence during the regular admission process for Jeong's son. Kim Young-ho, the opposition party secretary of the Education Committee, said before the meeting with the president, "There were many suspicions during the admission process, so we requested documents, but Seoul National University is not cooperating, citing personal information," and pointed out, "The school violence allegations can only intensify."

Earlier, Seoul National University informed the Education Committee that during the regular admission process in March 2020, Jeong's son was penalized with point deductions based on disciplinary records of school violence in his school life record. However, during the meeting, Seoul National University stated that they could not confirm any details regarding Jeong's son's admission, enrollment, leave of absence, military service status, or whether points were deducted during the admission process, all citing personal information. They explained that obtaining personal information requires the consent of the student in question.

Kang Deuk-gu, head of the investigation team, expressed frustration and anger to reporters after the meeting, saying, "I feel frustrated and angry that Seoul National University does not even know whether Jeong's son is currently enrolled," and criticized, "It seems Seoul National University is completely unaware of the public's anger."

There were also calls to clarify the allegations of school violence involving Jeong's son through a state audit or a hearing. Min Hyung-bae, an independent member of the Education Committee, criticized, "We need to hold a hearing or a state audit," and added, "They don't even know if the student exists, so is this how Seoul National University manages academic affairs?"

They plan to focus their questioning on the controversy surrounding Jeong's son's school violence during the full meeting of the National Assembly Education Committee on the 9th, targeting the head of Seoul National University's admissions office and the principal of Minjok Leadership Academy.
