President Yoon Suk-yeol stated on the 8th, "Even when faced with the persistent resistance of vested interests, we must never give up the path for future generations and the path for national innovation."

President Yoon made these remarks during his congratulatory speech at the People Power Party convention held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, in the afternoon, saying, "Our future will never come on its own."

First, President Yoon expressed his gratitude to the People Power Party leadership and party members, saying, "Around this time last year, we encouraged each other and ran tirelessly with the single determination to set the country right," and added, "I deeply thank the party comrades who have always been a reliable strength."

He also shared his reflections on the 10 months since the government’s launch. President Yoon said, "During this time, I have emphasized the values of freedom and solidarity, which are the spirit of our constitution. I have highlighted respect for private autonomy and individual creativity, the rule of law as the starting point of freedom and fairness, innovation in advanced science and technology, fostering national strategic industries, stronger support for the socially vulnerable through welfare for the disadvantaged, solidarity and cooperation among countries sharing universal values, and a robust national security posture."

He continued, "All of this began with the people's voice demanding the restoration of the broken liberal democracy and market economy system, and the people's voice asking to protect peace through strong national security," urging, "Now, we must act more strongly and implement more swiftly."

He also emphasized reforms against policies and forces that hinder reform. President Yoon stated, "Our reality is that we cannot even dream of the future if we neglect policies based on outdated ideologies and the unjust rent-seeking of vested interest cartels," stressing, "We must align our systems with advanced global standards so that the market can operate freely and fairly. We must decisively root out vested interest and rent-seeking cartels that bring suffering to the people."

He reiterated the three major reforms in labor, education, and pensions being pursued by the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. President Yoon said, "We must unwaveringly push forward the three major reforms for the sustainability of our society and the younger generation," emphasizing the need to firmly address and correct the lack of transparency in union finances, employment inheritance in industrial sites, and violence and illegality.

He also mentioned the normalization of international relations based on the liberal democracy and market economy system. President Yoon explained, "Solidarity and cooperation among countries sharing universal values are not only crucial for our survival and national interests in the international community but are also directly linked to constitutional values such as liberal democracy and market economy," adding, "Rebuilding the broken Korea-US alliance and swiftly restoring Korea-Japan relations are equally important."

He further expressed, "To overcome the global complex crises and severe security threats including North Korea’s nuclear threat, the cooperation among the three countries?Korea, the US, and Japan?is more important than ever, and this must be clearly recognized."

President Yoon urged, "We must never hesitate or fear fighting against forces that exploit the country's crisis and the party's crisis for their own political opportunities," and appealed again, "That is the way for our party to be more loved by the people. The People Power Party has the strength that has led Korea’s proud achievements."

He also emphasized the responsibility as the ruling party. President Yoon said, "Our party has the responsibility to create a society that warmly cares for the vulnerable as a party that protects the constitutional values of liberal democracy, which are the foundation of our prosperity," and added, "As a leading country in the international community, we have the responsibility to expand freedom for ourselves and global citizens and to create peace and prosperity in the international community. Let us all unite with the newly elected leadership to build a new Korea, a new nation of the people."

He called for unity within the People Power Party, which had experienced internal strife ahead of the party convention. President Yoon said, "There are no winners or losers in the party election," and appealed again, "First, think of the people, second, think of the people, and third, think only of the people."
