"Apple Pay Available"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] On the 7th (local time), Apple announced the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The newly released yellow-colored iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be available for pre-order starting from the 10th in more than 60 countries and regions, including Korea. They will be sold in stores starting Tuesday, the 14th.
The models, specifications, and prices are the same as those released in September last year. The iPhone 14 starts at 1,250,000 KRW, and the iPhone 14 Plus starts at 1,350,000 KRW. The yellow color has been added to the existing five colors: Midnight, Starlight, Red, Blue, and Purple.
Apple has recently been adding new colors every spring. In March last year, it released the iPhone 13 series Green and Alpine Green, and in April 2021, it added the Purple color. Unlike Samsung Electronics, which releases flagship smartphones twice a year, Apple launches new models once in the second half of the year. This is interpreted as a strategy to shorten the product release cycle by introducing new colors.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, said, “The iPhone is loved by many consumers, and they use it daily to handle everyday tasks. Now, the lineup welcomes the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which everyone will be delighted to see.”
Along with the launch of the new iPhone 14 color, Apple announced the launch of Apple Pay in Korea. Apple stated, “With the upcoming launch of Apple Pay in the Republic of Korea, Korean users will be able to make easy, fast, and secure payments at online and offline merchants and apps using Apple Pay on iPhones, including the new yellow iPhone.”
