Securing 150 Million Won in Project Funds, Expecting Dual Benefits of Senior Job Creation and Eco-Friendly Initiatives
Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 7th that Changnyeong Senior Club has been selected for the ‘2023 Senior Job Utilization Vertical Garden Distribution Project’ hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do.
The county will receive support for five years, including 150 million KRW for farm facility construction costs and wages for public interest activities for senior jobs (10 people) to operate the farm.
The ‘Vertical Garden Distribution Project’ is a lottery fund job creation project that serves as a twofold benefit by expanding senior jobs and cultivating plants that reduce fine dust to create an eco-friendly environment.

A vertical garden is designed so that fine dust-reducing plants can grow on vertical walls, improving indoor air quality and reducing ultrafine dust concentration by up to 25%, providing horticultural therapeutic effects that heal both body and mind.
Changnyeong Senior Club plans to establish a greenhouse-structured farm facility by June and cultivate fine dust-reducing plants.
The cultivated plants will be distributed to social welfare facilities and schools within the county after final installation work at a market-type business group designated by the province.
Meanwhile, Changnyeong Senior Club is a dedicated institution for senior jobs that develops and provides high-quality senior jobs suited to the elderly’s aptitudes, and it is a social welfare facility that has received the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s ‘Excellent Evaluation’ for two consecutive years.
