KT Studio Genie Hosts 2nd Series Contest

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] KT Studio Genie announced on the 6th that it will hold the "2nd KT Studio Genie Series Contest" together with KT group affiliates Genie Music, Millie's Library, and Storywiz.

This contest is open to series scripts with a running time of over 45 minutes per episode and a total of at least 10 episodes, regardless of genre or subject matter. Applications will be accepted from May 1 to June 15, and after preliminary, main, and final rounds, a total of three works will be selected and announced in October: one grand prize winner (prize money of 100 million KRW) and two excellence award winners (prize money of 30 million KRW each).

The winning works will be produced into videos by KT Studio Genie, adapted into audio dramas by Genie Music and Millie's Library, and reviewed for web novel and webtoon adaptations by Storywiz.

The grand prize winner of the 1st contest, "Parole Examiner Lee Hanshin," is currently undergoing drama series planning and development, as well as audio drama and novel adaptations. To maximize the value of this intellectual property (IP), comprehensive efforts leveraging synergies among KT group affiliates are underway.

Jung Jihyun, Head of IP Planning at KT Studio Genie, said, "In the 2nd contest, KT Studio Genie aims not only to discover promising IPs and talented writers but also to support the maturation of works and the growth of writers, so that they can bear fruit." He added, "Through this, we hope KT Studio Genie can create a positive synergy in the domestic creative ecosystem."
