Gyeonggi Shinbo Presents Appreciation Plaque to Gunpo City for Expanding Special Guarantee Program

The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation presented a plaque of appreciation to Gunpo City for expanding special guarantees to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation announced that Chairman Si Seok-jung visited Gunpo City Hall on the 3rd and expressed gratitude to Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho for significantly expanding SME support through special guarantees, presenting him with a plaque.

Last year, Gunpo City greatly increased the special guarantee contribution fund jointly operated with the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation to facilitate smooth financing for local SMEs and small business owners. Accordingly, Gunpo City's special guarantee contribution fund nearly doubled from 800 million KRW in 2021 to 1.5 billion KRW in 2022.

In particular, through the expanded contribution fund last year, Gunpo City additionally implemented the 5 billion KRW-scale "Gunpo City Special Guarantee for Medium- and Low-Credit Small Business Owners." This was promoted to strengthen tailored support for medium- and low-credit self-employed individuals facing financial difficulties due to higher loan barriers.

Chairman Si Seok-jung of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation emphasized, "The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation will continue to actively cooperate with Gunpo City to help local companies overcome the difficult economic crisis."

Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho promised, "We will provide practical and generous support to help SMEs and small business owners, the lifeblood of the local economy, recover their management and strengthen their competitiveness."
