The mobile voting rate among party members for the People Power Party's March 8 leadership election reached 47.51%.
The People Power Party Central Election Commission announced on the 5th at 5 p.m. that out of 837,236 eligible party members, a total of 397,805 participated in the mobile voting.
This is the highest turnout ever, surpassing not only the mobile voting rate (36.16%) but also the final total party member turnout (45.36%) including the Automated Response System (ARS) from the 2021 party convention.
The turnout on the first day, the previous day (the 4th), was 34.72% (297,100 voters).
The People Power Party will conduct ARS voting over two days, on the 6th and 7th, targeting party members who did not participate in the mobile voting. The final turnout is expected to exceed 50% significantly.
Once all voting procedures are completed, the election results will be announced at the party convention on the 8th.
If no candidate for party leadership receives a majority of votes, a runoff vote will be held between the first and second place candidates. In this case, a one-on-one debate will take place on the 9th, followed by mobile voting on the 10th, ARS voting on the 11th, and the party leader will be confirmed on the 12th.
