Startups Rapidly Integrate ChatGPT into Real Services
From Travel Planning to Tax-Related Queries, Diverse Applications
"Caution Needed in Introducing Commercial Services," Some Opinions
The interactive artificial intelligence (AI) 'ChatGPT' craze is changing domestic startup services. Startups that actively adopt new technologies are gradually integrating ChatGPT into their actual services. From planning trips to resolving tax-related questions, ChatGPT technology can now be experienced in various aspects of daily life. Developers at startups that have built services using ChatGPT also foresee the scope of this technology expanding further in the future.
On the 3rd, travel startup MyRealTrip announced plans to integrate ChatGPT technology across its entire service, including product search, recommendations, content, and community activities. Cheolmin Lee, Data Analysis Team Manager at MyRealTrip, said, "The possibilities with ChatGPT are endless. We are continuously considering the services we can create using ChatGPT and believe it can be applied in various fields such as tours, accommodations, and airlines."
MyRealTrip, which operates a travel app, launched an ‘AI Travel Planner’ service utilizing ChatGPT last month. They plan to enhance this service while simultaneously expanding the use of ChatGPT in other services. From a developer’s perspective, there are many aspects to consider when applying ChatGPT to actual services. Although its advantages are clear, it can sometimes provide inaccurate or meaningless information. Manager Lee said, "ChatGPT’s answers vary greatly depending on the questions asked. During development, we prepared sample questions to obtain good information from ChatGPT in advance." They also check to ensure that inappropriate questions related to hate, threats, violence, or sexual content are not answered.
Education startup ELICE recently launched 'AI Helpy,' which assists with coding learning based on ChatGPT. To optimize for coding-related Q&A, it underwent a training process based on vast amounts of data. It also features functions that explain code in detail or help fix errors. Previously, it took an average of 20 minutes to get answers to questions on ELICE, but AI Helpy provides answers within one minute. Suin Kim, Chief Product Officer (CPO) at ELICE, said, "We plan to maximize usability so that coding can be done easily on mobile devices. We intend to utilize AI throughout coding education, including class recommendations and progress, real-time code correction, and error message interpretation."
Allganize Korea integrated OpenAI’s GPT-3.5, the base model of ChatGPT, to launch the enterprise document solution 'AliGPT.' When companies upload documents, manuals, and the latest information, AliGPT answers questions and even shows the source documents. For example, the year-end tax settlement AliGPT supplied to the tax filing and refund assistance service 'SamzzumSam' provides customized answers to year-end tax and tax-related questions within one second.
New car purchase platform Getcha introduced ChatGPT to develop the 'Vehicle Recommendation AI' service. The AI chatbot recommends vehicles based on desired conditions such as gender and car brand. Yucheol Jung, CEO of Getcha, said, "Since we implemented a function that can provide immediate answers to questions, we expect it to contribute to improving the universality and familiarity of non-face-to-face vehicle recommendation and purchase."
However, there are also opinions that caution is needed when adopting ChatGPT in services. This is due to technical limitations such as restricted real-time learning capabilities and the inability to provide accurate and consistent answers. In fact, companies handling sensitive customer information, such as Verizon and JP Morgan, have banned the use of AI chatbots within their company systems. Mijeong Kang, a researcher at Hana Financial Management Research Institute, said, "Although ChatGPT is evaluated to have high commercial potential, considering issues such as accuracy, security, and errors, a cautious approach is necessary when adopting the service."
