Actor Kim Sung-cheol will join the online video service (OTT) Netflix series "Hellbound" Season 2, replacing actor Yoo Ah-in, who has been embroiled in drug use allegations.
On the 2nd, Netflix announced that actors Kim Hyun-joo, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Dong-hee, Yang Ik-jun, and Lee Re, along with Kim Sung-cheol, Yang Dong-geun, Lim Sung-jae, Jo Dong-in, and Moon Geun-young will appear in "Hellbound 2."
"Hellbound" is a Netflix series depicting a supernatural phenomenon where people receive death sentences to hell from the emissaries of hell who appear without warning. Amid this chaos, the religious group New Truth rises, and those trying to uncover the truth behind the incidents become entangled in the story. Season 2 follows the events after the shocking ending of Season 1, focusing on the resurrection of Park Jung-ja and Jung Jin-soo, who received the death sentence.
Kim Hyun-joo returns as Min Hye-jin, a lawyer opposing the fanatical group Arrowhead that follows New Truth and Jung Jin-soo. Kim Sung-cheol plays Jung Jin-soo, the first chairman who hid his own death sentence to hell to uphold New Truth's doctrine. Park Jung-ja, Chairman Kim Jung-chil, Jin Kyung-hoon, and Jin Hee-jung, played by Kim Shin-rok, Lee Dong-hee, Yang Ik-jun, and Lee Re, also appear in Season 2, portraying the backstories of those at the center of the chaos.
Yang Dong-geun appears as a leader guiding the cult along with Min Hye-jin, and Lim Sung-jae appears as a member of the cult who lost a loved one to the emissaries of hell. Jo Dong-in and special guest Moon Geun-young play the leaders of Arrowhead, named "Baramgaebi" and "Haetsalban Teacher," respectively, who lead the supporters.
