Interpark Aggregates Sales for Two Months Starting Last December
High Ticket Purchase Ratio in Japan and Southeast Asia Regions
Interpark announced on the 2nd that among the world theme park tickets purchased by Korean nationals on its travel platform Triple, 'Universal Studios Japan' in Osaka, Japan ranked first in sales.
Among the world theme park tickets sold over two months from December 15 last year, Universal Studios Japan accounted for 47% of sales. This was followed by Singapore Universal Studios (19%), Japan Nagoya Ghibli Park (10%), Vietnam Da Nang Ba Na Hills (9%), and Disneyland Paris (7%).
By region, Japanese theme parks accounted for the highest share at 57%, followed by Southeast Asia at 28%. Compared to 2019 before the outbreak of COVID-19, Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, USA, fell behind, while theme park tickets in Vietnam and Singapore took the lead.
A trend of preparing theme park tickets early was also detected. Before COVID-19, the average time between purchasing a theme park ticket and the intended date of use was about one week, but after the endemic phase (periodic outbreaks of infectious diseases), it has shortened to about two weeks. Additionally, with the shift from physical tickets to e-tickets, the proportion of same-day ticket purchasers has expanded to about 10%, which is also notable.
Meanwhile, Triple offers popular tours and ticket products for overseas travel destinations at the lowest prices through its 'Tour Hot Deal' promotion. Every Monday at 3 PM, an event is held where customers can receive coupons on a first-come, first-served basis to get discounts of up to 60%.
