Cellumed, Secondary Battery Replacement Platform New Business Progressing Smoothly... "Preparing to Establish Own Mass Production System"

Cellumed announced on the 2nd that its secondary battery replaceable battery and electric two-wheeler business, promoted as a new growth engine, is progressing smoothly. Cellumed expects to establish the foundation for its secondary battery-related business within this year and to generate full-scale sales starting next year.

Due to high expectations for the new business, most convertible bond (CB) holders recently exercised their conversion rights and became long-term investors. According to the company, this reflects external investors' positive evaluation of the secondary battery replaceable battery platform business and the high future value of the new business.

A Cellumed representative stated, “Since signing an MOU with the global company BYD for the replaceable secondary battery and electric two-wheeler business in January this year, we have been closely coordinating detailed battery specifications and market expansion plans. We expect that the official contract news, which the market is anticipating, along with government approval for the secondary battery replaceable battery platform and plans for battery mass production, will be swiftly advanced.”

He added, “Regarding the battery pack and electric two-wheeler mass production factory, which are core to the secondary battery replaceable battery platform business, we are comprehensively reviewing logistics, manpower, and support benefits to determine the optimal location and plan to finalize it soon. To strengthen technological competitiveness, we are securing proprietary technology development and key patents while building strategic networks with universities, research institutes, and related domestic and international companies.”

Following the government's establishment of national standards for electric two-wheeler replaceable batteries at the end of last year, the domestic replaceable battery market is expected to expand rapidly. Along with this, competing companies are also entering the market one after another, which is likely to accelerate market growth.

Cellumed is accelerating its secondary battery replaceable battery platform business based on partnerships with global number one companies with extensive experience and achievements in battery cells and electric vehicles. In addition, it is intensifying capital preparations for in-house mass production of battery packs and electric two-wheelers to secure market dominance through rapid investment.
