The Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 2nd that it has reappointed one legislative advisor and one legal advisor to provide consultation on the council's legislative and legal activities and to support professional council activities.
This reappointment follows the expiration of the previous terms, and according to the "Jinju City Council Legislative and Legal Advisor Operation Ordinance," Attorney Park Jong-yeon was appointed as the legal advisor, and Kim Geun-il, Policy Support Officer of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, was appointed as the legislative advisor.
Advisor Park, a former judge who served for 10 years, currently operates a law office in the region, while Advisor Kim, who holds a doctorate in law, is active in the provincial council that has progressively introduced the local council policy support officer system.
The term for the legislative and legal advisors is two years, during which they are responsible for consulting on legislative matters related to the enactment and revision of autonomous regulations, council operations, and the review and processing of bills; interpretation of related laws including higher-level statutes and legislative policies; and legal matters concerning the council.
Chairman Yang Hae-young stated, “The 9th Jinju City Council, which completed its preparatory phase last year, should be able to engage in active legislative activities, and we ask the legislative and legal advisors with practical experience and expertise to provide meticulous and systematic consultation to support these efforts.”
