For Elementary School Students (Grades 4-6) and Childcare Centers
Hansung Baekje Museum announced on the 2nd that it will support four types of customized history education programs, either face-to-face or real-time interactive non-face-to-face, for elementary school classes and childcare institutions.
Face-to-face classes involve visiting the museum in person to tour the exhibition halls and participate in hands-on activities, while non-face-to-face classes connect Hansung Baekje Museum and each class or institution in real time through the video platform (ZOOM) for interactive sessions.
The educational programs include ▲Beyond the Village to Hansung (face-to-face) ▲People of Goguryeo in the Tomb Murals (face-to-face) ▲Let’s Go! To Hansung, the Baekje Royal Capital (non-face-to-face) ▲Stride by Stride! Goguryeo to the Han River (non-face-to-face). These four programs focus on the history and culture of Baekje (Hansung capital period) and Goguryeo during the Three Kingdoms era, providing elementary students with an opportunity to become more familiar with Seoul’s ancient history and culture. The programs will run from the 23rd of this month until July 7th.
Elementary schools or childcare institutions wishing to participate can apply through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website by the responsible teacher or institution staff. For remote classes, pre-education videos and hands-on activity kits are provided, and for one of the two on-site classes, a bus will be arranged for student transportation. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Education Promotion Division or by visiting the Hansung Baekje Museum website.
Lee Kyung-ja, head of the Education Promotion Division at Hansung Baekje Museum, said, “Until now, it was difficult to come to the museum to see artifacts and experience activities firsthand due to COVID-19, but now that on-site learning at the museum is possible again, we hope children will narrow the distance to history through museum activities. Also, through remote classes, museum experiences are possible non-face-to-face in any situation, and elementary students from distant areas can always experience various contents of Hansung Baekje Museum, so we encourage many elementary classes and childcare institutions to participate.”
