Encouraging Players and Officials at the Home Season Opener on the 1st

Members of the Culture and Welfare Committee of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council attended the Gyeongnam FC home opener held at Changwon Football Center on the 1st to cheer for the strong start and resurgence of Gyeongnam FC in the new season.

The committee members attended the opening ceremony to support and encourage Gyeongnam FC’s new beginning, as the club is working with a determination to rebuild its image, which was tarnished last year by unfortunate incidents such as power abuse and sexual harassment.

Since the launch of the 12th Provincial Council in July last year, the committee members have shown great interest in Gyeongnam FC, which is operated with the residents’ taxes. In particular, they have repeatedly called for swift investigations and appropriate measures regarding last year’s power abuse and sexual harassment incidents, as well as efficient and transparent management to reform the club.

In addition, they have actively proposed policies in the sports field, including the enactment and revision of ordinances to enhance the rights of sportspeople, protect human rights, and support the safety management of sports facilities.

Kim Jae-woong, chairman of the committee who attended the opening game, said, “We must repay the residents for the concerns caused by the unfortunate incidents with reform and good results. Our committee will also support Gyeongnam FC,” and added, “We hope the residents will send much interest, love, and encouragement.”
