Charge of Obstruction of Official Duties by Abuse of Authority
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man who called 112 threatening to harm President Yoon Suk-yeol has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 28th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 21st, a man in his 50s, Mr. A, was sent to prosecution under detention on charges of obstructing official duties by deception.
Mr. A is accused of making a false report by calling 112 at 12:04 a.m. on the 3rd while intoxicated in a taxi, saying, "I will harm President Yoon. I am taking a taxi to Yongsan." The police later accompanied Mr. A voluntarily near his home in Guui-dong, Gwangjin-gu for investigation.
A police official stated, "We regarded the false report that mobilized police personnel as obstruction of official duties."
