Dongkook Pharmaceutical and Diabetes Association Launch 'Knowing My and My Family's Blood Sugar' Campaign

Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on the 28th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Diabetes Association to carry out the "Nationwide Campaign to Know My and My Family's Blood Sugar Levels."

On the 24th, Dongkook Pharmaceutical held a business agreement ceremony with the Korea Diabetes Association at the annex of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul to proceed with the campaign.

At the agreement ceremony, Kim Kwang-won, President of the Korea Diabetes Association, stated, "Knowing your blood sugar level is an indicator of your body's health," and added, "Through this blood sugar awareness campaign, we aim to contribute to the health of the nation and work together." He further said, "Through the campaign, we plan to provide accurate information about diabetes and simultaneously raise awareness about the importance of preventing and managing diabetic complications."

Seo Ho-young, Executive Director of Dongkook Pharmaceutical, said, "Through the 'Nationwide Campaign to Know My and My Family's Blood Sugar Levels,' we will convey the necessity of managing diabetes and diabetic complications, especially gum disease and venous circulation disorders," and added, "We will continue various collaborative activities with the Korea Diabetes Association for the prevention and management of diabetes."

According to the Korean Diabetes Association, 44.3% of adults aged 30 and over in Korea were in the prediabetes stage last year, and approximately 6 million people, accounting for 16.7%, were diabetes patients. This figure has more than doubled compared to 10 years ago. As the prevalence of diabetes patients increases, thorough management of diabetic complications as well as treatment of diabetes is necessary.
