Large supermarkets are holding pork belly discount events to celebrate 'SamSam Day.'

According to Emart on the 1st, until the 5th, domestically produced refrigerated pork belly and neck meat (100g), selected as grade 1 or higher, will be sold at a 40% discount when purchased with event cards and a 50% discount when purchased with KB Kookmin Card. The event price is up to 50.6% cheaper than the average retail price, and the prepared quantity has been increased by about 10% compared to last year's sales volume, with 500 tons prepared. All domestically produced frozen pork products will be sold at a 20% discount with event card purchases and a 30% discount with KB Kookmin Card purchases.

Lotte Mart and Lotte Super offer a 50% discount on domestically produced refrigerated pork belly and neck meat when paying with event cards. Both companies have sourced approximately 500 tons, the largest volume ever, to offer customers affordable pork. The procured raw materials are processed at the Fresh Quality Innovation Center operated by Lotte Mart, reducing distribution steps and further enhancing cost competitiveness. Lotte On is also holding a Samgyeopsal Day event. During the event period, domestically produced and imported pork belly from brands such as Dodram Handon and Nonghyup Livly will be offered at up to 50% discounted prices.

Homeplus is celebrating its 26th anniversary by holding a super sale 'Homeplun' until the 15th and a 'Member Special Price' event from the 16th to the 30th. In this event, My Homeplus members can purchase pork belly, neck meat, and all Korean beef products at up to 50% discounted prices.

A representative from the large supermarkets said, "To mark SamSam Day, when many customers visit, we have prepared various food events not only for pork belly and neck meat but also for other items," adding, "We will do our utmost to stabilize prices in customers' shopping baskets."
