Focused Report on 79 New Projects and 18 Expansion Projects
Gumi City's Population Policy for This Year to Be Announced in March
On the 28th at 2 p.m., Gumi City held the 3rd Comprehensive Population Policy Report Meeting chaired by Vice Mayor Kim Ho-seop, with about 50 participants including heads of related departments and division chiefs in charge of each project.
This report meeting was organized to review the progress of about 100 projects, including the major tasks adopted at the 1st and 2nd report meetings held in October and November last year, as well as newly discovered projects, and to discuss solutions to problems encountered during the implementation process.
In particular, this report meeting was the first time to attempt a PC video conference for department-wise project progress reports, in line with the expanding atmosphere of video conferencing to spread a smart and efficient work environment in Gumi City, enhancing the focus and efficiency of the meeting.
Based on the major policies discussed at this meeting, the city plans to announce the ‘2023 Gumi City Population Policy’ in March, focusing on the ‘Urban Re-creation Project’ to mitigate population decline and achieve a V-turn rebound, and the ‘Future Society Preparation Project’ to expand the living population and respond to future demographic changes.
On this day, Vice Mayor Kim Ho-seop emphasized, “It is more important than anything else to actively discover and promptly implement various population vitality policies that meet the expectations and demands of citizens, such as special benefits for Gumi citizens, improvement of residential conditions, job provision, and attracting companies,” urging all departments to devote themselves with extraordinary determination to recover the population to 410,000 this year.
