Health Checkup Costs and Round-Trip Airfare Support
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do is doing its best to realize a "hopeful future Wando where everyone prospers" by providing customized services for various family types.
According to the county on the 28th, comprehensive services such as child education, psychological counseling, and interpretation and translation services are being provided to ensure the stable settlement of multicultural families.
As of the end of December last year, there are a total of 396 marriage immigrants from Vietnam, China, and the Philippines residing in Wando-gun, living with their families in 12 eup and myeon.
Accordingly, this year the county is investing 178 million KRW to promote seven projects including health checkup costs for multicultural families, support for multilingual translators, "Becoming a Birth Mother" program for marriage immigrants, support for visiting their birth families, nationality acquisition costs, and settlement support funds.
The "Visiting Birth Family" program for marriage immigrants supports round-trip airfare within 2.5 million KRW per household, and nationality acquisition costs cover a naturalization application fee of 300,000 KRW per person.
In addition, a total of 1.18 billion KRW is being invested to support 15 projects through the Family Center, including operating visiting multicultural understanding classes, multicultural family home education services, case management, interpretation and translation, child language development, and child coaching.
A county official said, "We will continue to strengthen customized services for the stable settlement and happy family life of multicultural families."
