Focused Promotion on Infection-Vulnerable Facilities Such as Public Institutions and Medical Institutions
On the 27th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that following the recent shift from mandatory to recommended indoor mask-wearing, it is promoting the importance of ventilation to prevent and suppress the further spread of respiratory infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
The county focused its publicity efforts on public institutions, infection-vulnerable facilities, medical institutions, and other multi-use facilities to prevent airborne infections caused by close contact, crowding, and enclosed spaces by encouraging ventilation at least three times a day for more than 10 minutes each time, ensuring cross-ventilation.
Additionally, banners were posted at 14 locations outside Damyang-eup, and a total of 3,500 items including four types of protective equipment and self-antigen test kits were distributed to 37 locations such as nursing hospitals and nursing facilities to prevent infections in vulnerable facilities.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no stated, “Natural ventilation for about 10 minutes can reduce the risk of infection to one-third,” and added, “We hope everyone stays safe from infectious diseases by following wise ventilation guidelines.”
