With a Fresh Start, Gyeongnam FC Aims for Promotion to Division 1

March 1st Home Season Opener Against Bucheon FC

Gyeongnam FC held its 2023 season launch ceremony on the 27th at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Auditorium.

According to Gyeongnam Province, about 400 people attended the launch ceremony, including Governor Park Wan-su, Provincial Assembly member Park Nam-yong, head coach Seol Ki-hyun, Gyeongnam FC players, youth players and their parents, and Gyeongnam FC fans.

The event featured an opening video reviewing last season's training and matches, statements of determination from the coach and players, and the unveiling of encouragement messages received from fans before the entrance.

A Q&A session about questions regarding the players followed, along with a performance where everyone shouted the slogan "Gyeongnam FC Fighting Gyeongnam" together.

New uniforms for this season were also revealed, including the field players' home and away kits, as well as the goalkeeper's home and away kits.

A Gyeongnam FC official explained, "This launch ceremony embodies our commitment to efficient management and reform, aiming to become a professional club loved by the residents of the province and to renew Gyeongnam FC."

On the day, Governor Park encouraged the team by placing the captain's armband on player Woo Ju-young, saying, "I hope all the players do their best with one heart."

He added, "More important than Gyeongnam FC achieving excellent results is being loved by the residents. We will help the club and sponsoring companies work together so that residents naturally visit the soccer stadium, a complex space for life and culture, and that the club becomes loved by the residents."

Coach Seol stated, "The players' determination this season is more earnest and remarkable than ever before," and expressed his ambition, saying, "We will aim for promotion to the first division to repay the support and encouragement of the residents and fans."

Gyeongnam FC will play its first home game of the 2023 season against Bucheon FC at 1:30 PM on March 1 at the Changwon Football Center.
